Jochen Manebeck, Member of the Management Board of Infineon Technologies AG comments: “The new building is an important step as we accelerate our manufacturing efficiency through the implementation of Industry 4.0 elements. Block 8 is meant for a more automated, connected and controlled manufacturing environment that will help us improve our equipment, material, processes and work force.”
Located at the Batu Berendam Free Trade Zone 3, Infineon’s Block 8 features 4-storeys of production space and is made to accommodate the necessary infrastructure for the implementation of Industry 4.0.
This includes a highly connected environment with smart manufacturing production lines that are self-optimizing, where information is collected and processed in real-time to enable utilization optimization and greater production efficiency. The implementation will be carried out in phases with several automation projects already in the pipeline, particularly for the scheduling and dispatching, material handling and transportation, WIP storage and data mining processes.
