AIG Partners with Lazada to Gain Better Access to Customers

Lazada Malaysia is partnering up with AIG Malaysia to provide a more convenient, accessible and seamless purchase of insurance for Malaysia on its platform. Now, customers of Lazada Malaysia will be able to shop from the ‘freestanding’ AIG shopfront to easily purchase Travel, Snatch Theft and Personal Accident (Active Lifestyle Care) coverage.

Realising that a large portion of the population remains uninsured, the partnership aims to continue expanding the reach and penetration of insurance in the country while further raising awareness among consumers.

CEO of Lazada Malaysia, Hans-Peter Ressel says: “Enabling opportunities in the digital and direct channels for the purchase of insurance will be able to improve transparency and enable easier product comparisons. This will also ensure that our customers are well-informed about the right products that suit their needs. “

Meanwhile, Antony Lee, AIG Malaysia’s CEO adds that Lazada presents a compelling retail presence and offers a strong online platform. With about 50% of Lazada’s customers aged between 26 and 35 years, which is AIG’s target customer segments, the partnership will allow AIG to better understand its customers’ needs.
