The rising Malaysian instant event venue and services portal startup, VMO Rocks Sdn Bhd recorded a staggering growth of 435% year-on-year from 2015 to 2016 on their booking portal. Estimating a double digit growth for 2017, VMO received RM39 million (mn) in inquiry value compared to RM9.5 million in 2015. Apart from that, the value of bookings also increased from RM 223,000 in 2015 to RM1.19mn in 2016.

“Consumers today are serious about making online bookings and getting instant confirmation on the ‘newest’, ‘hipster’ and ‘instagrammable’ spaces in town,” says Vincent Kok, Chief Eventgelist of VMO Rocks Sdn Bhd. “The hottest trend in the country lately is booking ‘blank spaces’, where customers have the flexibility to decorate and fill up a completely empty venue space by themselves.

Even though booking ahead is a common practice, VMO is able to provide instant confirmation for dates and the menu. Apart from that, the platform also conveniently spoil customers with a range of different services like florists, bands, photographers, catering and many more.

“They want the ‘WOW’ factor, they want things to get done faster, they want to curate their very own unique event according to their own creativity, and that is exactly what we can give them,” adds Kok.
