Selangor Aims to Become the Gateway to ASEAN

Selangor is taking advantage of the lucrative regional markets and aggressively positioning itself in becoming the Gateway to ASEAN.

During the official opening of the Selangor International Business Summit 2017, Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, Selangor’s State Senior Executive Councillor for Investment, Industry and Commerce states: “Selangor is ideal for companies looking to penetrate the regional market as it provides a lot of opportunity for businesses and investors as well as those offering their products and services to the ASEAN market.”

Being Malaysia’s largest economy and its most progressive state, Selangor enjoys a highly developed infrastructure, advanced commercial ecosystem and a well-established investment haven, backed by excellent state government support to help business community do their businesses in the state.

“Events such as the Selangor International Summit is able to position the state as the global trading hub as it creates platforms for local and foreign MNCs, SMEs and entrepreneurs to gain and share knowledge besides showcasing their products and services. This makes it the perfect avenue for marketing, collaborations and partnerships and providing exposure and information on the latest technologies,” he adds.

Selangor will play to the 10-day summit from 7 to 17 September 2017 at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC), Shah Alam. It comprises of three main components, starting with the Selangor Smart City and Future Commerce Convention 2017 (7 to 9 September), followed by the Selangor-ASEAN Business Conference (11 to 12 September) and ends with the Selangor International Expo (14 to 17 September).
