IBM and VMware Partnership Speeds Up Cloud Adoption

IBM and VMware announces new solutions to further their partnership, while IBM launches a network control and visibility solution for enterprises to extend their VMware environments to the public cloud.

An example of the success that IBM and VMware brings to enterprises can easily be seen from when the Performance Materials and Technology (PMT) Disivion of Honeywell International adopted those solutions.

Honeywell is a global leader in designing and creating software-based systems that aims to safely and efficiently operate complex industrial facilities. By selecting IBM Cloud as the foundation for its Open Virtual Engineering Platform (VEP), it enabled users to build and test engineering processes in a highly reliable cloud-based environment.

Furthermore, moving to the IBM Cloud allowed Honeywell to seamlessly transition its VMware-based environment and take advantage of existing tools, technologies and operational processes in the cloud.

“The partnership between IBM and VMware enabled Honeywell to deliver new industrial automation technologies for our customers around the world. The global reach of the IBM Cloud, the operational consistency of VMware across on-premises and cloud environments and the ability to leverage HyTrust and Intel technology for additional security were undoubtedly important to us.” Says Vimal Kapur, President, Honeywell Process Solutions.
