Bell & Ross Introduces Bellytanker Watches

Showcasing its passion for engineering, Bell & Ross creates an exclusive timepiece inspired by the retro race car, the Bellytanker. Built using a fuel tank from a fighter place, the Bellytanker possesses missile-like aerodynamics and is best known for taking part in speed trials on the huge salt lake flats of the North American West.

The BR V1-92 Bellytanker features the colour scheme that matches the Bell & Ross racer. The metallic copper of the dial echoes the colour of the car’s wheel rims and the black of the car’s nose. For the small, steel 38.5 used for the case, numerals, indices and hands pay tribute to its sculpted bodywork.

Meanwhile, the metal skeleton hands are filled with Superluminova, allowing it to remain visible at night. Finally, its dark brown leather strap is aged for a vintage look to complement any wrist.

The chronograph version, however, houses two counters of a 30-minute counter and a central 60-second counter. It features a larger 41mm satin-finished polished steel case and a sapphire case-back that allow glimpses of the chronograph mechanism’s gear train. Additionally, the version with a solid case back features an engraved profile of the B&R Bellytanker.

The dial is best known as the ‘Panda’ dial, due to its contrast between the black counters and gold dial, which is also the colour scheme that matches the Bellytanker. Apart from that, the steel used for the case, numerals, indices and hands nods to the vehicle’s sculpted bodywork.

There are two options for the straps: a retro-inspired dark brown leather and a sporty metal bracelet. Both variations are limited to 500 pieces each.
