Mitsubishi Releases New Triton VGT AT GL

Pickup trucks have become more than just heavy-duty vehicles for moving furniture or transporting items that are sometimes too bug for a normal car to handle. They have evolved in terms of practicality and design, making them suitable even for everyday use.

With this in mind, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) is introducing a new Mitsubishi Triton VGT AT GL, that comes with a 2-Din Audio system, 4WD selector and automatic climate control. Aesthetic wise, the Triton VGT AT GL comes with a front dark chrome grill, side-step and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Enforcing its status as an unparalleled, all-rounder durable vehicle, the new Triton variant boasts of a 200,000km or five years warranty, to ensure the driver’s ultimate peace of mind. Additionally, the Triton is powered by the latest 2.4 litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine with Variable Valve Timing technology, coupled with the Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT), producing a strong 181 PS of power and 430Nm torque.

 

By combining MIVEC’s finer control of the engine valves with the lightweight aluminium alloy blocks, it helps keep the weight of the truck to a minimum. Ots timing chain also contributes to lower maintenance costs and a longer service lifespan. To further enhance the Triton’s car-like refinement, the new variant also boasts of minimum levels of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), allowing it to stay nimble in the urban jungle as well, with its best-in-class turninf radius of 5.9m.

In terms of safety, the Triton comes with Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC) system, which acts as a safety net to assist in keeping the vehicle in control during over-steer and under-steer situations or slippery and rugged conditions by maintaining traction.

Furthermore, its strong chassis helps ensure better drivability and greater durability for day to day usage of heavy loading on rough terrains. Other safety features like the Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Brake-Assist (BA), Active Stability Control, Traction Control and Hill-Start Assist (HSA), as well as the Trailer Stability Assists (TSA) helps but the driver’s mind at ease on those tough jobs.
