Forgotten Drop Series Charms Whiskey Enthusiasts

The Singleton of Glen Ord officially presents to its fans the Forgotten Drop Series, an annual release drawn from the brand’s rarest and most precious whiskies. These are the ones that are re-discovered from a few extremely rare casks with the signature rich and balanced distillery character, combined with something entirely unique and exceptional.

This year, The Singleton of Glen Ord 41 Year Old is revealed, with a limited 600 bottles made available worldwide, and only 24 bottles made it to Malaysia, prices at RM15,193 per bottle.

The Singleton of Glen Ord 41 Year Old is bottled at cask strength with 49.9% ABV to allow consumers to experience the pure character of this rare batch of old casks. It has a very special dram with a fine balance and smoothness, alongside rich tropical fruit aromas and hints of oak.

“The influence of the refill American oak makes The Singleton of Glen Ord 41 Year Old so precious, as it is so unusual for this distillery to have a whisky of this age in this type of wood,” states Maureen Robinson, the Master of Malt and the first female blenders in the industry with over 40 years of experience.

The Singleton of Glen Ord also launches its 18 Year Old Cask Strength in Malaysia, which is a limited edition bottling to celebrate the distillery’s 180th anniversary. Bottled at cask strength with 58.4% ABV, it creates a less spicy flavour, with aromas of walnuts and polished antique oak, followed by gingery and honeyed sweetness with rich fruity notes. This single malt Scotch whisky is only made available in selected markets with a starting price from RM624.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Joshi, Marketing Director of Moët Hennessy Diageo Malaysia, Diageo Brands says: “We believe that the launch of these new limited edition series will continue to cater to the rising demands for single malt whiskies while we strive to create more enjoyable experiences for single malt whisky enthusiasts.
