IDC ASEAN announced the Malaysian winners of its first-ever IDC Digital Transformation Awards (DXa) 2017 and named Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad as the 2017 ‘Digital Transformer of the Year’. IDC’s prestigious DXa is known to recognise organisations that have significantly disrupted the market or even transformed it, using digital and disruptive technology.
Meanwhile, Grab and Alliance Bank Malaysia are recognised as the winners for ‘Digital Disruptor of the Year and the ‘DX Leader-Omni-Experience Innovation’ categories, respectively. With these accolades, both organisations have successfully distinguished themselves for their discernible and measurable excellence in their digital transformation (DX) efforts across the three DX masteries and significant efforts to transform and disrupt the market.
“Organisations are rapidly adapting to DX in order to stay competitive in the global market. Out winners for Malaysia shows that DX is no longer just a buzzword, but a must,” states Pranabech Nath, Research Director, IDC Malaysia.
Nath adds that a research by IDC shows that the awareness and adoption of emerging technologies that enable disruptive business models, new revenue streams and operating models are increasing at an impressive rate.
“IDC believes this is the right time to recognise the digital trailblazers across the region for their great achievement in their digital transformation journey, especially in current developing economies. We look forward to seeing more cutting-edge transformers and disruptive projects in the year ahead,” adds Sudev Bangah, Managing Director, ASEAN, IDC.
