EPF PJ Suffers Massive Damage from Fire

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) closed off its Petaling Jaya office temporarily after the building caught on fire on 13 February 2018, a day before Valentine’s Day.

The EPF Crisis Response Team worked closely with the Fire and Rescue Department, who made sure that the fire did not spread to the surrounding areas of the building. In light of this incident, counter services will not be available until further notice.

It has been claimed that the fire did not start from inside the building, but it was due to the flammable cladding fixed on the building’s exterior.

In a statement that EPF released, it was mentioned that there hasn’t been any compromise to data integrity or member savings of any kind. EPF continues to monitor the situation as it develops and will provide an update once the branch is back in operations.
