Lafarge Malaysia Appoints New President and CEO

Mario Gross, Lafarge Malaysia’s new President and CEO

Lafarge Malaysia Bhd appoints Mario Gross as its President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Thierry Legrand (effective 1 April 2018).

Gross joined Lafarge Malaysia from Sika AG with 15 years of global experience in the construction material business, with roles across Germany, China, Thailand and Switzerland.

Commenting on Mario’s appointment, Thierry Legrand says: “In my three years with the company, I am proud of Lafarge Malaysia’s achievements in strengthening our business, putting in place the building blocks for future growth. I am confident that with Mario’s business acumen, experience and leadership, he will take Lafarge Malaysia to the next level of growth in the coming years”.

Lafarge Malaysia has distinguished itself as the preferred partner in complex construction projects and contributing to the majority of infrastructure projects in the country. It has also made significant progress in modernizing the way it goes to market with the establishment of outlets with “perfect wall” displays showing the right products for the right applications across the country.

Most recently, Lafarge Malaysia launched the MYHOME initiative to provide Malaysians an opportunity to give their input in a build that will turn a future house into their ideal home. The project is the first of its kind in the country where Malaysians are actively invited to collaborate in the design of a home before it is even built. The survey runs until 31 March 2018.
