Boost partners with Union Pay to expand footprint in Malaysia and globally

Boost partners with Union Pay to connect to more merchants not only in Malaysia, but also across the region. With over 7.5 million Union Pay QR code merchants globally, Boost hopes to to use the app to leverage on the offerings to transact globally.

Christopher Tiffin CEO of Boost says this is another milestone in broadening Boost’s functionality and usability to provide a more rewarding experience to their partners and customers.

“With our partnership with Union Pay, we saw a natural fix in how we can take this journey forward and we can accelerate this journey not just from within Malaysia but also outside Malaysia. This partnership marks our first cross nation collaboration which is part of our regional expansion plans. Our long terms plans if for users to transact worldwide and for tourists to transact in Malaysia with Boost,” he adds.

Wenhui Yang, General Manager Union Pay South East Asia says, “Union Pay has more than 80% of merchants in Malaysia. With this partnership, we foresee that our QR paying method will be increasing faster with Boost. Over 30,000 Union Pay merchants in Malaysia will be accessible to Boost.”

Union Pay currently serves over 7 billion users globally and is accepted in 170 countries.
