The 23rd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (23rd MIF)

The 23rd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (23rd MIF) will be held at The Venetian Macao from 18 to 20 October (Thursday to Saturday). The 23rd MIF has invited Mozambique to the “partner country” and Fujian province as the “partner province”. Forums, conferences and workshops will be organised to promote regional economic and trade exchanges and co-operation in diversified ways and assist the participating enterprises to keep in line with the development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and China-PSCs platforms. The 2018 Portuguese Speaking Countries Product and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2018 PLPEX) will continue to be held concurrently with the 23rd MIF.

Since its founding 22 years ago, the MIF has been continuously improving its level of internationalisation, scale and quality, while optimising the concept and strategy of exhibitions. At the 22nd MIF in 2017, more than 1,500 exhibition booths attracted participants from over 50 countries and regions. Last year, it was the first time that the MIF was held concurrently with PLPEX. A total of 67 contracts were signed during the three-day exhibition, and the on-site purchasers in the business matching area participated in more than 389 business appointments with remarkable results.

Featuring again the theme “Cooperation – Key to Business Opportunities”, this year’s MIF has invited Mozambique and Fujian Province to the “partner country” and the “partner province”, giving full play to Macao’s advantages as the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. In line with the policies of the State and the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, the fair will set up the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Business Zone, a smart exhibition area, a youth entrepreneurship exhibition area, a featured finance exhibition area and an innovation experience zone. Forums, conferences and workshops covering economics, trade, exhibition, investment and other elements will be organised to help enterprises explore business opportunities and promote the diversified development of Macao’s industry.

The fair continues to provide the participating enterprises a series of free business matching and promotion services covering procurement negotiation and brand agency, etc. Simultaneously, the “Online Business Matching Service Platform” will be open to maximise the efficacy of business matching and help attendees to expand their markets. Meanwhile, the fair will offer free WI-FI at the venue and electronic payment in the Macao SME Exhibition Area, so that participants can enjoy more diversified and convenient payment methods. At the same time, the “8th Asian Trade Promotion Forum (ATPF) Joint Exhibition” will be staged in Macao at the MIF for the first time to provide an exchange platform for domestic and overseas companies and Asian trade promotion institutions.
