Microsoft Co-Founder, Paul Allen dies at age 65.

Microsoft co-founder,Paul Allen dies at the age of 65 due to complications from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma yesterday afternoon.

His demise was announced by his sister, Jody Allen who released a statement on behalf of the family :

“My brother was a remarkable individual on every level. While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much loved brother and uncle, and an exceptional friend.

Paul’s family and friends were blessed to experience his wit, warmth, his generosity and deep concern. For all the demands on his schedule, there was always time for family and friends. At this time of loss and grief for us – and so many others – we are profoundly grateful for the care and concern he demonstrated every day.”

After a leaving Microsoft, Paul had gone on to become an investor through his own company , Vulcan and went on to add a wide range of companies onto his portfolio. Allen who co-founded Microsoft with childhood friend, Bill Gates had also also owned the Seahawks and the Blazers.

Being on the list of the wealthiest people in America, he was also known for his philanthropic efforts which exceeded 2 billion.
