Porsche announces latest electric concept car, the Cross Turismo

While they are yet to make their electric debut on the road, Porsche have made it clear that electric technology will play big part in their future, as they announce the production of their second e-car.

Unlike the Taycan, Porsche’s sleek first electric design, the new Cross Turismo is a family electric vehicle aimed for leisure pursuits, combining a steeper tailgate and increased ground clearance with a more rustic design.

Around a year before the launch of the eagerly anticipated Taycan, Porsche has now given the green light to begin the production of the Mission E Cross Turismo this coming spring.

While the Taycan is a sleek four-door sports car, the Cross Turismo is a family car aimed for leisure pursuits, combining a steeper tailgate and increased ground clearance with a more rustic design.

However, looking beyond the aesthetic differences in the two cars, and the technology under both bonnets remains the same.

Both models having two engines with a combined power of 441kW/600hp, reaching speeds of around 250 km/h and a driving range of over 500 kilometres.

The Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo is scheduled for release in 2020.
