ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) confirms yesterday (18 December 2018) that Dato’ Lock Peng Kuan FCCA has been elected to ACCA’s global Council.
With 36 elected members from all over the world, Council is the governing body of ACCA and a vital part of how the organisation is run. Council members work with ACCA’s executive team to shape ACCA’s future and develop the profession.
Dato’ Lock has held an ACCA membership since 2000, and has also served on ACCA’s public practice committee in 2007. Like all Council members, Dato’ Lock’s role is voluntary and carried out while he works as a Partner at Baker Tilly Malaysia, a position he has held since 2006.
He joins Datuk Mohd Nasir Ahmad and Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan as the third Council member from Malaysia.
Dato’ Lock is also currently the Deputy Chair of ACCA Malaysia’s Advisory Committee, and as Chairman of ACCA’s Global Forum for Audit and Assurance.
Commenting on Dato’ Lock’s appointment to Council, Edward Ling, head of ACCA Malaysia, said: ‘We warmly congratulate Dato’ Lock on his election to Council. His experience has made him a respected mentor and industry advisor, he acts as a fine advocate for ACCA, accountancy and developing student success.’
