Emelia Matrahah Is MIMOS’ New CEO

National applied research and development (R&D) agency, MIMOS Berhad’s Board of Directors has appointed its Senior Vice President, Emelia Matrahah as Interim President & Chief Executive Officer in place of outgoing President & Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Rizan Ibrahim. As of 1st April 2019, Ahmad Rizan is no longer with MIMOS.

She started her career with Pricewaterhouse (M) Sdn Bhd before moving into the commercial -based industries, such as Sapura Telecommunications Berhad as its Business Controller and iCIMB Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Epic-I Sdn Bhd) as its Chief Financial Officer.

Emelia’s past experience has extended to projects like KLIA TAMS Phase 1, KLCC Networks, security and fire intrusion detection system (FIDS), banking fraud recovery and others.

Emelia joined MIMOS in May 2006 as General Manager of Corporate Services Division. In May 2016, she progressed into her current role as Senior Vice President, looking into areas of, among others; corporate strategic planning, treasury and financial management, risk and corporate governance, lead negotiator for global settlement, legal services, facility management and strategic procurement for MIMOS and its subsidiaries.

Emelia has extreme value serving the organisation and brings a depth of experience in that role, especially in manufacturing, business process outsourcing and IT outsourcing; semiconductor, telecommunication and R&D industries in both multinational and government-linked companies’ environment.

She has undertaken strategic engagement to garner strong support from key stakeholders (Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (formerly MOSTI)), particularly on financial-related matters.
