BMW Malaysia Introduces Two New Additons To Its Portfolio

Premium automaker BMW Malaysia ushers in 2020 with two new variants, the New BMW X1 sDrive20i M Sport and the New BMW 320i Sport, to their portfolio of locally-assembled vehicles. This further stamps the premium automaker’s continuous investment in Malaysia and also in tandem with the Ministry of International Trade and Industry’s (MITI) aim to strengthen the automotive industry in 2020.

The BMW 3 Series variant brings a modern thrill to the sports segment, while the new Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) presents a renewed sense of athleticism to the BMW X range.

“We are welcoming the new year with a new chapter to our Story of Thrilling Sportiness with the New BMW X1 sDrive20i M Sport and the New BMW 320i Sport; both locally-assembled and both from the best-selling segments of our portfolio in Malaysia,” Harald Hoelzl, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia said.

In 2019, over 2,500 units of BMW 3 Series models were delivered underlining BMW lead in the premium sports sedan segment of Malaysia, bolstering their expansions into adding more locally-assembled BMW vehicles in their Kulim facility. The BMW X models also charted record highs in their local deliveries, accounting for more than 43 percent of vehicles in the BMW portfolio.

“With the strong figures in 2019, we are confident that 2020 will present more opportunities for our segment-leading models to rise with the local automotive industry,” Hoelzl added.

As for the New BMW 320i Sport, it carries the prominent expression of the current world’s best-selling premium sports sedan and equipped with a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, paired with the 8-Speed Steptronic Sport transmission.

Also, a first in its segment, the New BMW 320i Sport offers the Reversing Assistant for hands free, semi-autonomous convenience when reversing in narrow streets, along with the Rear View Camera which is fitted as standard.
