Celcom And Alliance Bank Collaboration A Way Forward

Celcom Axiata Berhad (Celcom) and Alliance Bank Malaysia (Alliance Bank) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement to assist SME owners to better manage their businesses through connectivity and financial solutions.

The MoU was signed by Idham Nawawi, Chief Executive Officer of Celcom Axiata Berhad and Joel Kornreich, Group Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Bank.

The recently launched Celcom Business Suite for Retail, powered by the Alliance SME Express Financing package provides retail businesses mobile and data connectivity, payment acceptance, and a customer engagement platform. Through this package, businesses can obtain hassle-free financing with preferential rates from the bank and aslo, get to enjoy better pricing value on their telco plans.

Retail based SMEs are a large contributor to Malaysia’s economic landscape and Celcom aims to inculcate a digital business cultured environment across various industries. The Celcom’s Business Suite for Retail paired with Alliance Bank’s financing solution will close the digital business gaps in one package.

“Celcom remains committed to be a catalyst in digitising local enterprises and businesses, especially SMEs, with connectivity and financing solutions which will enable and inspire growth within the digital economy,” Idham Nawawi said.

Idham added that, “In-line with th National Entrepreneurship Policy 2020, Celcom  aims to digitise SMEs with innovative digital solutions that will create an efficient and sustainable business, including the opportunity of commercialising products and services to both local and overseas markets, hence further contributing to the nation’s digital ecosystem.”

Joel Kornreich, said “Alliance Bank and Celcom share the same mission of helping entrepreneurs accelerate their business. Our partnership with Celcom will enable us to assist our combined customer base of more than 100,00 SMEs manage their business better and expand quickly and be financially successful. Understanding the customers’ telco behaviour and usage of banking services will enable us to develop better packages to suit their needs.”

According to Kornreich, the partnership will also offer SMEs better access to the bank’s services. Alliance Bank has 82 branches, and Celcom has over 200 SME dealers in their network.

Celcom and Alliance Bank will organise seminars and get-together sessions with industry players and business owners to discuss relevant topics pertaining to ecommerce and digital marketing. Business owners will have access to Alliance’s BizHub portal that provides exclusive offers for business solutions.
