Prudential BSN Takaful contributes more than RM500,000 to communities affected by the COVID-19 outbreak

Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN) via its charitable investment arm, PruBSN Prihatin, donates more than half a million in aid to its strategic partner, MERCY Malaysia to assist the B40 families and vulnerable communities that are affected by the world-altering pandemic and movement control order (MCO).

Already suffering from the low wages and high cost of living, the COVID-19 outbreak and extended MCO will further impact the livelihood of the poor and hardcore poor families in the B40 and other at-risk groups.

PruBSN Prihatin has allocated RM500,000 to MERCY Malaysia from PruBSN’s zakat fund to provide livelihood assistance to the families from this vulnerable community.

Concurrently, PruBSN Prihatin is running a donation drive via PruBSN Prihatin COVID-19 Fund to support MERCY Malaysia’s COVID-19 Pandemic mission.

The PruBSN Prihatin COVID-19 fund which has garnered over RM8,000 to date, will be channeled to the marginalised and at-risk communities for purchase of essential needs.

PruBSN and MERCY Malaysia have been proactively extending their care and protection for the impacted communities, in line with the measures undertaken by the government and Bank Negara Malaysia.

Through their relief efforts, both the takaful provider and NGO hope to help ease the financial pressures on their customers and communities during this health emergency phase and extended MCO period.
