Singapore reports 1,426 new Covid-19 cases, bringing total to 8,014

According to a news report by Channel News Asia, Singapore has reported 1,426 new Covid-19 cases bringing the total numbers to 8,014.

Majority of the new cases have been reported to be work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories according to Singapore’s Ministry of Health.

As of Sunday, the cluster at S11 Dormitory in Punggol, Singapore was noted to be biggest, with 1,508 confirmed cases.

Sungei Tengah Lodge was reported to have the second biggest cluster with 521 confirmed cases.

CNA has also reported that work permit holders and S Pass holders in the construction sector have been placed on mandatory stay-home notices until May 4 as a precautionary measure against the spread of the outbreak.
