RHB Banking Group (“RHB”) continues to showcase their commitment towards the healthcare workers across the country amid the battle against the outbreak

Throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, more than 20,000 packed meals and snacksvare being delivered for the benefit of about 2,000 frontliners including doctors, nurses and other health workers who are working on different shifts at hospitals that are attending to Covid-19
patients.

RHB has been delivering 450 packed meals daily to six hospitals – Sungai Buloh Hospital, Serdang Hospital, Ampang Hospital, Selayang Hospital, Putrajaya Hospital, and Kuala Lumpur Hospital, since March 23 and had further increased to eight hospitals in the 3rd phase of MCO with the
inclusion of Sultanah Aminah Hospital Johor Bahru and Sarawak General Hospital.

Total packed meals delivered daily has also increased to 600, which will continue until the end of the MCO period on April 28.

The deliveries also include snacks such as energy bars and drinks which are also in short supply at the hospitals.

“RHB is continuing to provide packed meals to healthcare professionals and workers throughout the MCO extension until April 28. For this 3 rd phase of MCO, we are providing meals to eight hospitals, which now include Sultanah Aminah Hospital Johor Bahru and Sarawak General Hospital.

“Apart from ensuring that our healthcare frontliners are being given proper meals daily, we are also able  to  support  small catering businesses and their suppliers, enabling them to continue earning income during the MCO period,” said  Khairussaleh Ramli, group managing director, RHB Banking Group.

“During the Holy Month of Ramadan, we will include other food items such as bubur lambuk and dates in our deliveries to our frontliners. We feel it is important to keep their morale high, and hope that these ‘must-have’ Ramadan delicacies would keep their spirits high as the fight against the
spread of Covid-19 continues,” added Khairussaleh.

RHB Banking Group has thus far pledged a total of RM3 million to assist in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

This includes RM1 million to Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia for purpose of ensuring the continuous supply of PPEs and another RM1 million to MERCY Malaysia through the Association of Banks in Malaysia for various initiatives to assist against the spread of Covid-19.
