Proton to restart operations starting May 5

Proton Holdings Bhd will restarting their operations gradually starting May 5.

The automative carmaker in a press statement stated that it expects to reopen its sales and service outlets on the stipulated date.

This applies to outlets located in green and yellow zones. These too will be based on the requirements of all relevant authorities.

Additionally, Proton said all of its premises and staff will be subject to strict safety protocols guided by the National Security Council (NSC) of Malaysia to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Chief executive officer, Li Chunrong said the carmaker will see a gradual resumption of its business activities.

Proton will also gradually resume production operations at its plants in Tanjung Malim and Shah Alam from May 5.

The corporate office at the Centre Of Excellence (COE) will also begin operations, however new work practices will be adopted to minimise infection and contact.
