Boost adds 3 more states into its in-app Zakat payment feature

E-wallet, Boost has added three more states – Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Sabah – to its in-app Zakat payment feature. This brings to a total of six states on top of Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan and Kedah, in which Boost has been appointed as an official Zakat collection agent.

With this payment feature, users can now make ‘Zakat Fitrah’ and/or ‘Zakat Harta’ payments directly from the app for Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS), Pusat Pungutan Zakat – Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP), Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah (LZNK), Majlis Ugama Islam & Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP), Perbadanan Baitulmal Negeri Sembilan (PBMaINS) and Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah (MUIS).

This has led us to expand our partnership with more states to make the process of Zakat payment more efficient and safer as well as help increase digital inclusivity, adoption and awareness in the country,” said Mohd Khairil Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Boost.

Through the app, users can pay for their Zakat by clicking on the respective tile on the homepage. Add a zakat account by choosing which state payments will be made to, then, users have to provide their IC number, name, and mobile number before making a payment.

“Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang is delighted to have partnered with Boost to ease the burdens of Muslims in the state to fulfill their obligations by paying Zakat Fitrah at their own convenience. This partnership was timely due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) which aims to curb the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak in our country,” Dato’ Ahmad Hairi Bin Hussain, Secretary of Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang.
