TM bags 4 awards at the Alpha SEA 10th Annual Institutional Investor Awards for Corporates

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) was recently voted for its excellence in investor relations and corporate governance at the Alpha Southeast Asia’s 10th Annual Institutional Investor Awards. For the Malaysia chapter, the Company emerged as the winner in the Best Senior Management Investor Relations Support and Best Annual Report categories, besides being named as the top three in the Most Consistent Dividend Policy and Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) categories.

Commenting on the win, Mohd Bakke Salleh, chairman of TM said, “We are indeed very honoured to receive these awards and humbled by the votes of our investors and stakeholders. The recognitions reflect their confidence in TM and we are grateful for their trust and continued support. These awards are dedicated to all Warga TM for their relentless efforts in the service of the nation as Malaysia’s connectivity and digital infrastructure provider.”

Since the inaugural edition of the Annual Institutional Investor Awards back in 2011, TM has walked away with multiple wins year after year including five times Most Organised Investor Relations, three times Best Strategic CSR, two times Best Annual Report and most notably, two of TM’s previous Group Chief Financial Officers were honoured as the Best Chief Financial Officer in 2016 and 2019.

Winners of the Annual Institutional Investor Awards for Corporates were selected through an annual poll organised by Alpha Southeast Asia Magazine, with votes collected from investors and analysts across the Asian region and have been chosen based on products or service innovation, rising market share, leadership in industry, financial performance, consistent performance, executive leadership and corporate governance while the Best Executive award is based on personal leadership and vision.

Alpha Southeast Asia’s corporate institutional investor pool is a perceptions-based poll in performance in financial management, adherence to corporate governance, integrated reporting /corporate social responsibility and investor relations. Alpha Southeast Asia collected votes from investors and analysts across the region as well as the United States and Europe.

The participants included fund managers with investment interest in Southeast Asia, large institutional investors, insurance companies, pension funds, funds of hedge funds, private banks, equity and fixed income brokers as well as buy and sell-side analysts.
