In a press conference earlier, Selangor State Executive Councillor (EXCO) for Investment, Industry and Commerce, and SMEs, Teng Chang Khim spoke about the sustainability of retailers during this pandemic.

“We hope those who suffer from this MCO in the retail business can top the technologies by going online as soon as possible and the State Government encourages all retailers to go online” he emphasised.

Pointing out that the Selangor E-Bazar Raya Campaign which was held for two months during the Raya season was a great success with a 111 percent profit, the State Government will be launching another programme in a few days.

He also mentioned that there were already 2,000 micro SMEs registered before the campaign and managed to gather an addition of 6,400 with the initiative of sponsoring RM1 million worth of discount vouchers.

“With the success of the e-bazaar, a new programme will be launched in a few days by the Menteri Besar, called 11.11. It will be an online shopping festival corporated with Lazada n Shopee. This will be an effort from the State Government to assist SMEs to go online. We expect 10, 000 SMEs to be registered to help in their business” he said.
