Budget 2021 Focused On Restoring Economy-PM

All eyes will be focused on the upcoming Budget tabling that is set to take place this week, the Prime Minister has acknowledged various times over the course that the government will announce initiatives that will alleviate the people’s burden in facing a difficult period currently through the 2021 Budget.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Budget 2021 which will be tabled on November 6 will provide various allocations to government agencies, aid to all citizens and incentives to the corporate sector, industries and businesses to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and restoring the nation’s economy.

“In managing the third wave of COVID-19 currently, the government strives to avoid the devastating impact on the country’s economy which could give negative effects on the people’s economy and livelihoods.

“I know that many people are suffering due to loss of jobs and source of income following the impact of COVID-19.

“Many businesses are forced to close down. More than 800,000 people have lost their jobs. I hear your groans,” he said.

Muhyiddin said this in a special address on the current situation on COVID-19 pandemic which was telecast live via several local TV station in his first televised interview since meeting the King.

At the same time, Muhyiddin also urged all Members of Parliament (MPs) to push aside the political differences to ensure Budget 2021 is approved for the interest of the people and country.

“Let’s put the people’s interest above all else. A form of understanding can be achieved among the MPs to enable Budget 2021 to be approved with the support of MPs from the government and opposition,” he said.
