FedEx Express receives two awards recognising sustainability and CSR efforts

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies has received two highly-acclaimed industry awards, the “Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2020” and “2020 MY AMCHAM Cares.”

These awards recognise FedEx Malaysia for its FedEx / JA International Trade Challenge and Young Enterprise (YE) programs, which educate and inspire young talents to have an entrepreneurial mindset geared toward international trade.

The awards reinforce FedEx commitment to global connectivity and providing access for the next generation of innovators.

“At FedEx Express Malaysia, we are honoured to receive these two awards. This is noteworthy recognition of our contribution towards our local communities. We recognise that entrepreneurs and small business owners require the necessary skills to keep up with the changing demand in the ever-evolving global market. Understanding this need, FedEx believes in equipping them with life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, risk-taking and self-confidence, thus equipping them for real-world experiences,” SC Chong, managing director of FedEx Express Malaysia said.

The Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2020 recognises the unwavering commitment of corporations with the vision to create positive impact through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to facilitate socio-economic transformation in Malaysia. VariousMalaysian private and listed companies were acknowledged for their contributions in reaching out to the underserved communities.

The 2020 MY AMCHAM Cares is an annual programme organised by the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) that celebrates and promotes best practices within the corporate citizenship and CSR programs implemented by their members.

The FedEx Express / JA ITC and YE Program are platforms that echo the company’s commitment in creating opportunities as well as developing entrepreneurial skills in young leaders of tomorrow. To date, both programs have impacted more than 7,000 students in Malaysia alongside a milestone success where two Malaysian students emerged as the Top three teams in the FedEx Express / JA International Trade Challenge (ITC) Asia Pacific Regional Finals.
