TNB Does CSR Bid With RM3 Million Back To School Program

Tenaga Nasioanal Berhad has been allocating funds since 2013 for its Back To School program, this year the national utility giant will be setting aside RM3 million for families in need to preare their children for school. The fund will go for basic school going needs like school shoes, uniforms, bags and stationery.

TNB chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the allocation under the company’s corporate social responsibility programme would benefit 20,000 students nationwide, and is aimed at easing the financial burden of unfortunate families.

Every year, TNB does its charitable work using various means to distribute the items the company’s ‘Ceria Ke Sekolah’ program had since benefitted over 36,000 families. Overall it has spent RM7.5 million since the program was implemented.
