Carsome Academy to upskill automotive workforce in South East Asia

Integrated car e-commerce platform, Carsome has set up their first technical institution in Malaysia, Carsome Academy.

The Academy will be a National Dual Training System (SLDN) training centre accredited by the Department of Skills Development under the Ministry of Human Resources.

Carsome Co-founder and Academy Director, Teoh Jiun Ee, said the academy is a human capital development initiative to create a positive impact within the communities Carsome operates at.

Carsome also has plans to build a technical workforce to strive for the best standards in professionalism and ethics to the South East Asia (SEA) used car industry. 

Carsome academy now offers industry-oriented training programs which combined institutional and workplace training, students will undergo 30 percent of theoretical lessons at Carsome Academy, followed by 70 percent industrial training at any Carsome Inspection Centers in Malaysia

The company is also the first technical institution to guarantee graduates jobs with Carsome upon their graduation. The course fee is fully refundable upon a graduate’s successful placement and tenure with Carsome for 2 years.

With the vision of developing a high skilled and industry-ready workforce in Southeast Asia, Carsome Academy aims to introduce more new courses in the future to create more all-rounded technical professionals in the automotive industry.

The Academy is the first technical institution in Malaysia to offer the Malaysian Certificate of Excellence (SKM) Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Inspection (Roadworthiness). This course is in accordance with the module offered by Computerized Vehicle Inspection Center (PUSPAKOM), with the addition of Carsome’s digital tools.
