This initiative aims to assist students to access and continue online learning with the necessary electronic devices. Recently, Speedhome has also donated 15 computers, 2 printers and English educational materials to students in need.
“The schools switched to online learning overnight, but a lot of families just could not afford computers, laptops or even tablets. As the leading tech-savvy company in the property market, we are trying our best to help the needy and fulfil the students’ needs,” Speedhome Chief Executive Officer, Wong Whei Meng said.
“Past months, some of our students have started working part- time to help support their families. A few of them have now become breadwinners, and they are thinking of not continuing with their classes and this is a worrying issue.” said Chandrika Menon, a teacher from Kolej Tingkatan Enam Sri Istana.
Wong also urged entrepreneurs and the public to provide a helping hand in community issues especially digital poverty among Malaysian students.
