MAFI Prihatin mission set to aid flood victims’ burden

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) has launched the MAFI Prihatin Mission to ease the burden of the population affected by the floods in the Pahang.  

This MAFI Prihatin mission is an initiative under the Minister of Agriculture and Industry Food. It involves the delivery of necessities and electrical equipment to the four parliaments in Pahang, namely in Lipis, Jerantut, Kuala Krau and Maran.        

Apart from food products, rice sponsorship was also presented by Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS).

At today’s release ceremony, Ronald also presented a replica of the donation cheque from the National Association for Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia (MANCID) to Lipis Member of Parliament  Abdul Rahman Mohamad, Maran Member of Parliament Ismail Abd Latif, Kuala Krau Member of Parliament Ismail Mohamed Said and for the Jerantut Parliament was accepted by his deputy Mahathir Latif.

Other assistance is in the form of electrical equipment and basic equipment to help alleviate the burden of the population in flood-affected areas especially the MAFI target group namely farmers, ranchers and fishermen who will be handed over through the Farmers Organization involved.

MAFI Prihatin misson is the result of contributions and social responsibility various Departments and Agencies under MAFI including the Agricultural Marketing Board Federation (FAMA), Farmers Organization Board (LPP), Farmers Organization National (NAFAS), Young Agricultural Development Authority (MADA), Association National Fishermen (NEKMAT), Malaysian Pineapple Industry Board (LPNM) and Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM).

MAFI mission began earlier this month through its department and agency handed over Kit Starter Food (KMP) for victims and MAFI residents affected by floods in Johor and Pahang. 

In total, the mission has also distributed a record of 32,000 KMP units to the Armed Forces Civil Defense at the state and district levels.

MAFI mission will continue to channel the assistance to the victims of flood in affected states throughout this unfortunate event.
