A total of 36 winning teams of MYHackathon 2020 have showcased their digital solutions during the virtual Finale & Showcase broadcast. The solutions involved various themes encompassing more than 100 problem statements identified from all levels of the Government from federal to state and local areas.
“Through MYHackathon 2020, we encourage the growth and development of the nation’s techpreneurs, especially among the youth. This will reduce dependence on foreign technology and labor, in line with the National Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTIN) 2021-2030 and 10-10 Framework of Science, Technology, Innovation and Economy Malaysia (MySTIE) which aims to intensify the 1 development and usage of technology locally, to transform the country from technology users to technology developers,” Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said.
“I deem such efforts to be very critical now when the country is facing COVID-19. The relatively controlled physical movement to prevent the spread of this pandemic has forced us to conduct various affairs and transactions online. We can no longer state those measures as “new norms”, instead we need to recognize and embed them as the “new future”, far beyond the response to Covid-19,” he added.
Led by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle) as the main secretariat, it is supported by Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC), Malaysian Administrative Modernisation & Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), UniMAKER, Telekom Malaysia and local state partners.
MYHackathon 2020 was open for all innovators, software engineers, subject matter experts, as well as concerned Malaysians to participate.
