Maxis Lures Home Fibre Customers With Free Wifi 6 Router

Lets face it the pandemic has confined many Malaysians at home, with most members of the family spending longer hours in the house surfing their devices, doing school activities and office work, the need for better and stable connectivity is a must. Probably this is one reason, fibre connection sign up has jumped significantly in the past 12 months.

Major telecommunication players including Maxis have seen huge uptake of its home fibre plans, to further grow this segment the operator is enticing customers with free Wifi 6 router when they sign up.

So what is Wifi 6, just like all technology every few years a new and better improvement takes place in both software and hardware, with the next generation WiFi 6 router, customers can expect faster speeds and better connectivity. The technology offers wider signal reach, better performance for large file downloads and uploads, increased quality in 4K movie streaming and gaming. Maxis’ free router will be EasyMesh certified, this will allow users to expand their home WiFi network by adding their own mesh units. The new router can also handle more devices without compromising speeds and latency.

Maxis will be offering the WiFi 6 router for free effective immediately for new customers who sign up for Maxis Fibre plans of 100Mbps and above. Existing Maxis Fibre customers will be contacted in phases for the router upgrade exercise.
