Rakuten Trade Partners with Boost to Amp Up Rewards Ecosystem

Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd (Rakuten Trade) has partnered with homegrown e-wallet player, Boost to amp up its reward ecosystem to focus more on cashless transaction that have increased in popularity since the Movement Control Order (MCO) last year to pursue new ideas to expand it rewards ecosystem to better respond to the needs of its clients,

Rakuten Trade’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kazumasa Mise said in view of the changing circumstances of a more digital lifestyle, Rakuten Trade has agreed to explore innovative concepts to expand its rewards ecosystem in order to help address the demands of its consumers and to boost digital trading experience in a holistic way.

He said the main advantage of online trading, in addition to low brokerage costs, is compensation as the profile of institutional buyers continues to change, incentives must be responsive in order to respond to their evolving demands.

“The current environment has managed the required for computerised transactions to be a fundamentals portion of our day to day presence.”

“The continuous advancement is pivotal for our trade advancement and development in digital trading experience holistically in light of the changing circumstances of a more digitalised lifestyle,” Kazumasa said.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Boost, Mohd Khairil Abdullah said, “This year we are committed to take advantage of those opportunities to chart the next normal of the country’s cashless and digital economy ambitions.”

He said this collaboration will see Rakuten Trade moving towards giving its computerised retail speculators with more quick delight through remunerated focuses being changed over into partner rewards that can be turned into Boost e-wallet coins.

“The unprecedented digital and online growth we experienced last year showed us endless untapped potential and opportunities on how we can reimagine and explore new ways to use digital platforms to operate in all business and lifestyle aspects.

“With this new partnership, Rakuten Trade clients can convert their RT points on a point to coin basis (1 RT point = 1 Boost coin). Boost coins can be redeemed for everyday essentials like food and beverages, household items, groceries, bill repayment and even conversion into e-wallet cash,” he added.

Khairil added in addition to Boost, Rakuten Trade’s other rewards partners comprises AirAsia BIG Rewards and BonusLink. It parted ways with B Infinite, after three years together in January.
