FWD Takaful Launches Special Fund To Cover Eligible Customers Affected By Vaccination Side-Effects

FWD Takaful Berhad (“FWD Takaful”) has launched a RM1 Million Covid-19 Vaccine Special Fund for all eligible customers in the event of hospitalisation or death due to any complications or side effects arising from Covid-19 vaccinations.

Salim Majid Zain, FWD Takaful’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “It’s heartening to know that the Covid-19 vaccine is now available to protect Malaysians from the virus. In the meantime, we’ve launched a special fund for all our customers* to be prepared for all possibilities.”
 
As an inclusive Takaful provider, FWD Takaful is dedicating the special fund to all our customers*, including those in the underserved segment who take up our micro-takaful plan, FWD Kasih, and our plan dedicated for the disabled segment, FWD SpecialCare Direct, to help secure their future.
 
FWD Takaful will cover all new and existing customers* with additional protection and benefits of the COVID-19 Vaccine Special Fund without any additional contribution. The fund provides coverage as follows:

The hospital cash benefit is valid for three (3) months from the date of receiving the first dose of approved vaccinations by the Ministry of Health, and death benefit is only applicable for death in Malaysia. The benefit is available from 25 February to 31 December 2021 or until the RM1 million special fund is exhausted, whichever is earlier.

In addition, FWD Takaful has also launched a RM1 millionSpecial COVID-19 Relief Fund 2.0 to cover customer diagnosed with Covid-19. The complimentary coverage is now available from March 1 until Dec 31 or until the fund is exhausted, whichever occurs first.

Last year, FWD Takaful launched a similar fund of RM1 million that benefited more than 200 customers and their family members.
