Jakarta Smart City Launches Policy Dialogue Series To Strengthen City’s 4.0 Transformation Programme

Jakarta Smart City has held the first Policy Dialogue to empower Smart City policy-makers in Jakarta and beyond, focusing on seamless and sustainable mobility in Jakarta.

Through this Policy Dialogue (PD#1), various inputs related to this topic are validated to discuss potential policies to be implemented on the city level and this is part of the Multi-Stakeholder and Policy Dialogue Series (MSPD) which was officially launched in early March 2021 by Governor of Jakarta, Anies R. Baswedan, and Ambassador of the European Union to Indonesia, H.E. Vincent Piket.

The two-year dialogue series initiated by the project Smart Change supports the exchange of know-how among dedicated Smart City professionals.

The purpose of the Policy Dialogue is to facilitate  sustainable policymaking in Jakarta and provide pilot initiatives from all relevant urban stakeholders that are involved to address the seven pillars of the Smart City strategy in Jakarta.

It is implemented in collaboration with the consortium of Hukumonline and RuangWaktu.

Jakarta Smart City Director, Yudhistira Nugraha stated with this collaboration, they are providing an open discussion forum, including important stakeholders to support our Smart City 4.0 Transformation program in Jakarta.

He added this will empower their endeavour to continue to experiment, develop innovation, and support collaboration.

The participants have discussed a variety of policies regarding the transportation sector that is already in effect in Jakarta as well as necessary new policy measures.

Programme Manager at the Delegation of the European Union to Indonesia, Muamar Vebry stated that this dialogue will support the exchange of know-how of dedicated smart city enablers to conjointly contribute to impactful policy-making for a sustainable Jakarta.
