IOI Properties Hands Over Flagship Hotels To Marriot Management Team

IOI Properties Group Berhad has entered into agreements with Marriott International, Inc. to manage its signature hotels, namely Putrajaya Marriott Hotel and Palm Garden Hotel. Currently both these hotels are under franchise model where IOI manages the upkeep and promotions, however this will now be converted to a managed contract whereby the Putrajaya Marriot will not go under the Premium brand and Palm Garden Hotel will be converted to placed under the Tribute Portfolio brand.

This will remarkably change the way both hotels are managed, under the Marriot management would mean streamlined experience would be offered to guests that fits into the hotels global standards. Marriot has 4 different category of hotels, Luxury, Premium, Select and Longer Stays, both these hotels will line-up in the Premium category. Putrajaya Marriott Hotel is the Mediterranean-Moorish architecture one will notice when entering the Palm Garden golf course area, the vast building sits on a 6.5-acre land but the outlook of the hotels looks somewhat dated of late needing a much deserved upgrade.

Palm Garden Hotel on the other hand was built to facilitate golfers, however after IOI Properties relocated the clubhouse and the golf course the hotel became less appealing. The new arrangement will place the venue under the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio at the end of 2021, an overhaul of the facade will be probably bring its glory days back, currently the hotel sits on a 788-acre next to IOI Resort City and City Mall.

Marriott International manages Le Méridien Putrajaya in IOI Resort City, and Four Points by Sheraton Puchong, both of which are part of the hotel portfolio of IOIPG. It will also be managing both the upcoming Moxy Putrajaya in IOI Resort City, and the Sheraton Grand within the IOI Palm City mixed development in Xiamen, China.
