Putrajaya Announces Stricter Measures As Total Cases Reach 505,115

Putrajaya has announced additional safety measures in efforts to curb the rising Covid-19 cases in the country.

80 percent of civil servants are set to work from home under the new measures while 40 percent of workers from the private sector will have to work from home.

Additionally, business outlets nationwide will now be able to operate from 8am to 8pm daily. However, pharmacies will be allowed to operate until 10pm.

In a join press conference with Health-Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the new measures will also cover shopping malls, eateries and petrol stations.

The measures set to take force for one month from May 25 will also see public transport passengers to be limited to 50 percent.

The country recorded 6,320 new cases with 50 Covid-19 related deaths today. 4,694 patients have been discharged in the 24 hours as of noon. Total number of cases recorded is at 505,115.
