Resorts World Genting Closes Casino And Limits Operating Hours On Facilities

Malaysia’s only casino is hit with another blow as MCO 3.0 will mean a halt in gambling activity for the resort. Resorts World Genting has been diligently adhering to the governments guidelines on SOP’s and has often closed the gambling floor whenever strict conditions were announced.

Under MCO 3.0, although there is no blanket closure of the economic sector, the government has advised self-restraint and practice work from home as much as possible. Staffs are to be reduced to 60% at any one time, while retail outlets can operate only from 8am to 8pm. In a statement issued, Genting Resort in compliance with the government’s latest SOPs will be shutting its casino and will be limiting its operating hours for all other facilities from 8am to 8pm, effective 25 May until 7 June 2021.

This will also apply to all its hotels, food & beverage outlets, shopping malls, retail outlets and other facilities. Some of the offerings may not be available during this period.
