Digital Agency 4 Thirteen Urges Companies To Approach 4-Day Work Week Method For Better Employee Wellbeing

A local digital and branding agency, 4 Thirteen in an effort to achieve better work balance has given its employee the four-day work week benefits and is calling companies to adopt this initiative against the crunch culture.

By doing so, the agency has given its employees every Friday off.

Danny Gnaniah, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 4 Thirteen, said, “The decision to move to a four-day work week was not easy but we knew it was the right call. While it took a bit of getting used too, we now reap the rewards and can definitely say the four-work week, works! I’ve seen first hand the positive impact it has had on the team – significantly increasing morale, momentum and overall efficiency.”

“When we made this decision, we knew we wanted to take a bold stance against the crunch culture that has unfortunately become so embedded within our industry and many others as well. It may seem like a daunting task but I urge others within the industry and in fact across the corporate landscape to join us on the journey to improve work life balance and to place greater emphasis on employee wellbeing,” he added.

The decision to take every Friday off was made as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to live up to its core values in terms of people and community. The team overcame internal skepticism and doubts about client acceptance to make this historic decision.

According to the company, the initiative has already proved to be a rousing success, with employees showing generally higher spirits and a more eager attitude toward work.

4 Thirteen also utilises the opportunity to invest in talent growth and team building on first Friday of the month through by getting professional development teams and counsellors to assist its employee in implementing better work performance.

Additionally, Jan Lee, Lead Strategist at 4 Thirteen said, “In the fast-paced world we live in today – especially in a branding agency, it’s truly a godsend that we can get just a little more time for ourselves. 52 Fridays off means we get 52 more days to spend with our family and friends or to rest and relax.”

4 Thirteen was founded in 2008 and now employs over 30 people to serve clients in a range of sectors, including telecommunications, insurance, finance, and fast-moving consumer goods. Yoodo, Allianz, OSK Property, CIMB, Hada Labo, Scismic, and Panasonic are among the agency’s main clients.
