Intel Grants WFH Wishlist With Thinner And Lighter Windows Laptops

Work from home trend is unlikely to abate in coming months or even years, MCO 3.0 is a clear sign of what we can expect to see moving forward, so the best thing is to wrap our lives around this new scenario. WFH is here to stay, we have converted our homes to makeshift offices, video meetings and conferences are being held virtually what we need now is for the tools to make us productive to catch up.

Heeding to the call is Intel, the worlds largest chip maker for notebooks and PCs, the company announced two new additions to the lineup of 11th Gen Intel Core processors that will soon give vendors the ability to make slimmer and lighter Window based machines. Joining the new chipsets will also be Intel’s first 5G solution for the upcoming devices.

Intel acknowledge that widespread pandemic-driven requirements for working and studying at home has proven that mobility, performance and connectivity are essential to modern PC experiences. And as the world embarks on the next stages of hybrid work-learn-play models, advancements in mobile computing support the evolution of how and where people use their devices.

The new 11th Gen Intel Core processor family will continue to deliver real-world productivity, collaboration, creation, gaming and entertainment on thin-and-light laptops.

More than 60 designs based on the chips are expected by end year, with laptops from Acer, ASUS, Lenovo and MSI available mid year. Nearly 250 designs powered by 11th Gen Intel Core U-series processors are expected to be ready as well.

All models will be equipped with Wi-Fi 6E, selected models will have gigabit+ speeds, lower latencies and enhanced reliability via unencumbered Wi-Fi performance in new 6 GHz bands. Acer, ASUS and HP are among the first OEMs expected this year to enable modern connected laptops with the Intel 5G Solution 5000 with more to follow suit on a later date. Working from home will at times could require the combination of Wifi and 5G for that seamless experience and zero buffering during that important meeting call.
