The Access Group Acquires Sage Group’s Asia And Australia Businesses, To Strengthen APAC Foothold

The Access Group has completed the acquisition of Sage Group’s local businesses in Asia and Australia.

Following this latest acquisition and the recent purchases of Volcanic, who run their Asia Pacific operations from Kuala Lumpur, Attaché and Unleashed in the APAC region, Access has strengthened its global market presence and now serves 71,000 customers world-wide.

Chris Bayne, Chief Executive Officer of The Access Group, said “This latest acquisition supports our regional strategy and focuses on delivering solutions that meet the needs of our growing customer base. We welcome Sage Group’s customers, partners and employees into The Access Group.”

“Kerry Agiasotis will leave Sage to become President of The Access Group, Asia Pacific, to ensure a smooth transition. Having overseen the Sage business in Asia Pacific for the last four years, I have closely seen Malaysia’s transition to a productivity-driven nation,” he said.

The acquisition includes the company’s Malaysian UBS accounting software, Singapore’s EasyPay payroll solution, Australian HandiSoft Tax and Practice management solution for accounting firms, MicrOpay and WageEasy compliant payroll solutions.

Meanwhile Kerry said, “We recognise that Malaysia has entered a lockdown, and this again, greatly impacts businesses. We are encouraged to see how Malaysians have fastened the shift towards greater digital adoption – reinventing and building resilience in the midst of the pandemic.”

The Group’s established presence in Asia and Australia, along with Sage Group’s local companies in Asia and Australia, provides clients and partners with a unique opportunity to utilise a leader in integrated people and financial management software services.

The Access Group will bring Access Workspace, a global SaaS solution that connects payroll, finance, HR, and digital learning applications to one platform, transforming the way software solutions are used and giving every employee the freedom to do more from a single sign-on interface, to the region.

“I’m very proud of how Access has shown, not only resilience, but also huge progress and growth during the past incredibly challenging 18 months and am thrilled Kerry will be making the transition to Access to lead the region,” added Chris.

Building on Sage’s 30 years of experience in the country, Access will continue to provide the same level of support to all customers across the region and continue to deliver solutions that empower people and businesses.

The Access Group is a significant supplier of business management software to mid-sized businesses in the United Kingdom and Asia Pacific. The announcement signifies the company’s focus on the Asia Pacific region as a centre of growth.
