The recently unveiled RM150 billion worth PEMULIH stimulus package will remove the RM4,000 limit for the salary subsidy programme in order to provide a salary subsidy of RM600 per workers for four months.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government has also agreed to implement the Wage Subsidy Programme (WSP) 4.0, with an allocation of RM3.8 billion, expected to benefit more than 2.5 million employees.

In recent weeks, the government had extended the wage subsidy programme to help employers continue operations and retain their workers during the pandemic.

According to the Human Resource Ministry, the implementation of the previous wage subsidy programmes managed to save 4.7 million workers and 498,882 employers.
