KWSP Confirms Earlier Date For i-Citra Withdrawals

Members of the Employees Provident Fund below age 55 years may apply for the i-Citra withdrawal starting from 12 July 2021 via icitra.kwsp.gov.my, three days earlier than scheduled.

Under the recently announced PEMULIH package which was designed to ease woes of the people going through another bout of lockdowns, contributors to the provident fund can withdraw specific amount from the retirement savings account. Contributors were also allowed to withdraw during the first MCO, a total of 2.5 million members withdrew an estimated RM19.62 billion.

Via i-Citra, eligible members are allowed to withdraw up to a maximum of RM5,000 subject to the total combined balance in both Accounts 1 and 2. The approved withdrawal amount will be paid for a period of up to five months, with a fixed monthly payment of RM1,000 per month subject to savings balance. The first payment is expected to be credited into the respective members’ bank accounts from August 2021.

To ensure the online process is smooth, EPF asks members to make ensure that their mobile phone number matches the one in EPF’s record to receive a One-Time Password (OTP), in addition to having an active bank account to receive the payment.
