Maxis Acquires Peering One And Team To Enhance Its Cloud Offerings

Business are looking to move to cloud as it now becomes the most practical approach in terms of investment, scalability and adoption. They also want to work with a limited number of partners for this step, in order to cater for the growing demand of a one-stop-solution provider, Maxis is making strides in the cloud solution offerings with its latest acquisition.

The telco which has been focusing quite extensively in the enterprise space has just acquired and absorbed the team at Peering One Sdn Bhd a Malaysian-based cloud solutions company which specilises in hybrid and private cloud managed services to amp up its cloud offerings.

Getting the team as part of the deal, the decade old Peering One has a pool of strong cloud professional specialists with a decent customer base and a reputable market position.

“The integration of Peering One into our team at Maxis is a big milestone in our journey to be the market leading cloud solutions provider for our customers, and further deepens our domain expertise.” said Paul McManus, Maxis’ Chief Enterprise Business Officer.

This is Maxis’ second acquisition in the cloud space after Insfrastructure Consulting & Managed services in 2020, ICMS is a Microsoft Gold Business Partner with strong competencies across Azure Cloud Solutions, Modern Workplace and Security.

Wong Chee Voon, Managing Director of Peering One will look at this merging as way to empower more Malaysian businesses to leverage the cloud to achieve their digital aspirations. With this absorption Maxis will be able to enhance its end-to-end Cloud Managed Services through a single touch point for customers, enjoy upfront cost savings and flexibility, scale their cloud consumption needs through the ‘pay-as-you-use’ model. This system is augmented by a 24×7 monitoring and support services via Maxis’ Cloud Network Operations Centre (NOC).

Maxis will also expand its in-country Hosted Cloud footprint through Peering One’s existing strategic partnerships with Tier 3 Data Centres, addressing customers’ growing requirements for data privacy, security and sovereignty. These new solutions will be integrated into Maxis’ current offerings and delivered over its leading converged mobile and fixed network in Malaysia.
