Serba Dinamik Holdings Berhad has nominated Nexia SSY to fill in the vacancy for the new Statutory Auditors of the Company in accordance with the Companies Act 201, subject to professional clearance from the KPMG.
The appointment comes off the long standing dispute between KPMG where both parties were engaged on certain matters relating to audit report. Moving ahead Chairman Datuk Mohamed Ilyas had said that the Board of Directors, including the Audit & Risk Committee is committed in ensuring the nomination is based on the objectivity and independence as well as the sound performance of the external auditor.
Ilyas added, “The appointment is based on the criteria set by the Board which is in line with legislative promulgations such as Companies Act 2016, Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 (Amendment 2012) and Listing Requirements whilst also taking into account the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance (“MCCG”), and the By-Laws (on Professional Ethics, Conduct and Practice) by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (“MIA”).”
Nexia SSY PLT is fairly a new entity established in 2011, however the formation is through the merging of three different audit firms with substantial years in them.
