BusinessToday Special Supplement On Malaysia Day 2021-Together We Recover

Malaysia as an independent nation will turn 64 on August 31 and will also celebrate the inclusion of Sabah and Sarawak on September 16.

In heralding this momentous occasion probably at the most trying time of the nation after Independence, there much to be reflected, admired and appreciated. This year will be different as we continue to battle with the virus, come to a conclusion that we will have to live with Covid-19 and pin our hopes on vaccination. Malaysia spirit flies high and mighty just like our Jalur Gemilang, there is no giving up as shown by the frontliners and Malaysians who have fought hard to keep the country going.

The giving culture shone through during these period of difficulty, groups, NGO’s, corporates all chipped in to donate food, financial aid, medical supplies and other items for fellow Malaysian who were in need. With vaccination at full force the country is gearing up for a full recovery in Q4, preparation are under way for the National Recovery Plan to move to Phase 2 and 3.

There is much to look forward to this year, in our Special Merdeka and Malaysia Day supplement, as BusinessToday will look at some significant milestones throughout the formation of corporate Malaysia. For instance, we look at the formation of the KLSE in 1964, what were the first stocks traded, corporate leaders who helped shape Malaysia Inc and we speak to CEOs who were born before Merdeka.

IN this Special we will also pay tribute to companies and corporate individuals who went beyond the call of duty and supported the nation in the war against the pandemic. CSR programs and contributions that made a difference will be highlighted.
