The Biggest Cryptocurrency Theft: $611 Million Stolen!

Security researcher SlowMist says it has found the attacker’s email, IP address and device fingerprints, the team reported on Twitter.

The theft of more than $600 million from Poly Network, a platform that aims to connect several blockchains, is the largest cryptocurrency crime ever.

According to reports, hackers exploited a vulnerability in Poly Network and began transferring cryptos to three addresses once they hacked the platform.

Poly Network, a decentralised banking network, has called on cryptocurrency exchanges to “blacklist tokens” coming from the addresses.

According to the stablecoin’s issuer, about $33 million in Tether has been locked as a result of the heist.

Poly Network apologised on Twitter for the attack on BinanceChain, Ethereum, and OxPolygon.

It also says that assets have been transferred to the hacker’s addresses which it made public.

Poly Network said, “We will take legal action and urge the hackers to return the assets.”

Binance, on the other hand, says it is aware of the Poly Network “exploit” that took place today.

“While no one has control over BSC (or ETH), we are working with all of our security partners to provide proactive assistance. There are no assurances in this world. We’ll do everything we can. “Stay #SAFU.”

Bloomberg says Security researchers are trying to track down the attackers.

Security researcher SlowMist says it has found the attacker’s email, IP address and device fingerprints, the team reported on Twitter.

It added that “this is likely to be a long-planned, organized and prepared attack.”
