AirAsia is now in the e-hailing services with the AirAsia Ride which is under the AirAsia Super App.
The services offer some unique features for users who can choose the drivers they want, says AirAsia ride Malaysia CEO, Lim Chiew Shan.
“Users have the option to choose the type of vehicle and also the selection of the best and safest driver.
“AirAsia ride uses the concept of ‘driver first’ for drivers who are committed and get good ratings from customers.
“When users open the application, they will be given the option to ‘preferred drivers’ who are nearby,” he says during the launch of the AirAsia ride which was held virtually on Monday.
The ‘driver first’ concept would enable drivers to receive a higher overall income.
“Currently, we have a total of 1,500 registered drivers and with a nationwide expansion plan, we expect more than 5,000 drivers to register with AirAsia ride in the next six months,” he says.
Another feature is advanced booking which will be helpful for customers who want to travel to the airport, for example.The company intends to expand the services beyond Klang Valley to Sabah, Sarawak and neighbouring countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and several other Southeast Asian countries.
